Fetele nu mai merg la Cottbus :(

Conform unei decizii de ultim moment, fetele nu vor participa în acest week-end la competiția de la Cottbus, anunță Federația Română de Gimnastică.
Din păcate nu se precizează și motivele acestei modificări… sper doar că participarea la Cupa Mondială de la Paris nu va fi și ea anulată.

Încep competițiile

S-a afișat de curând lista participanților la Cupa Mondială de la Cottbus (11-13 martie 2011) și avem frumoasa surpriză să le găsim printre concurente pe:

Amelia Racea
Ana Porgras
Diana Chelaru
Sandra Izbașa

Nerăbdătoare să surprindă!

Sandra pare pregătită pentru europenele de anul acesta și speră ca de data aceasta chiar să surprindă și să nu se întâmple ca la mondialele de anul trecut când a ieșit din covor.

Eu zic că a surprins și anul trecut prin revenirea ei pe 3 aparate și că Mondialele de la Rotterdam nu ar trebui să le rezumăm doar printr-o singură finală, cea de la sol. În celelalte zile de concurs a făcut o treabă excelentă pentru echipă.

TVR a realizat un reportaj cu gimnastică la Izvorani în care putem găsi multe surprize dacă îl privim atent :).

Gimnasta Sandra Izbaşa s-a descurcat de minune la pupitrul ştirilor sportive de la GSP TV!

Gimnasta Sandra Izbaşa a prezentat în ziua de Crăciun ştirile sportive la GSP TV, alături de Costin Deşliu.
Sandra a avut emoţii, dar a ştiut să treacă cu bine peste micile probleme din timpul jurnalului.

Sosită direct de la antrenamente, Sandra a fost curioasă să vadă cum arată redacţia Antenei 1. “Noi nu mîncăm prăjituri la ora asta, voi de ce mîncaţi?“, a glumit Sandra cu colegii de la Antenă. După ce a fost la machiaj, gimnasta a făcut haz de necaz de Gigi Becali, dar şi de Bianca Drăguşanu.

“Numai ştiri cu Becali aveţi, despre gimnastică cînd o să daţi mai multe? Şi Bianca ce caută în jurnalul meu? Ce contează că e iubita prinţului Cristea?!“, i-a transmis Sandra lui Costin. După o oră de jurnal, a recunoscut: “Am avut emoţii mai mari ca la unele concursuri, dar a fost bine. Acum mă întorc la gimnastică, dar pe viitor poate o să-i iau locul lui Costin. Dacă am greşit, o să apar la cîrcotaşi, dar eu nu cred“, a glumit Sandra.

Interview: Ten Questions with Sandra Izbasa

TCG Romanian reporter Beatrice Gheorghisor asked recently returned Olympic floor champion Sandra Izbasa the TCG Ten Questions….

What is one thing your coaches are always having to tell you?

During the training, there are the directions and during the contest, there are encouragements. The directions are never the same because the mistakes are never the same!

If you were to go to the Olympics for another sport, what would you want it to be?

Handball…

If you could change one rule in gymnastics, what would it be?

I would change the Code of Points: I would change many things regarding the vault and  the balance beam and also the floor. Maybe for the uneven bars although I don’t train that apparatus but I would like to have a better chance of getting higher scores!  On floor, I would increase the value of certain elements that are very difficult : for instance a full twisting back tuck is worth the same as a full twisting back piked and I think that the piked one is more difficult. Also I would reward some connections better.

What was your proudest moment?

The moment of the Olympics in 2008. The Olympic Gold is something that you always remember.

What was your most embarrassing moment?

I did not have any funny mishaps, nothing to be embarrassed about. Because when I had an unpleasant moment it was awfully bad, not the funny kind of unpleasant.

What makes you angry?

Nothing. Now, after the injury I had to rebuild my life. I had a really tough time in the past and now I am beginning a new chapter. And I see life with more mature eyes.

What makes you laugh?

All the charismatic people that surround me. They make me laugh, I feel good around them…

If you could be anyone famous who would you be?

An actress? I like very much Angelina Jolie, among singers: Beyonce and there are more people that I like.

If you could have the career of any other gymnast, who would it be?

I would choose my career any day; I am proud of it.

What makes gymnastics different from other sports?

The elegance, the maturity that an athlete needs to have in order to do this, because it is difficult, we don’t just concentrate to walk, there are four apparatuses, six apparatuses for the men; the ambition, the team spirit, that is needed in other disciplines as well but it’s also important for us.
